Principals Report
The end of Term 2 is here and I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the students, staff and the wider school community for the respect and courage in which they have navigated the COVID impacted year so far.
Recently we had an External School Review team carry out a 1 year follow up visit, it was affirming to hear the positive comments they made about the improvement our school has made over the last 12 months. This is thanks to the hard work of our staff and I would like to acknowledge the work our staff have done to create our Whole School Inclusive practices, and our Behaviour Support Flowchart both of which are shared in this newsletter. The work our staff teams have done on improving student learning outcomes and classroom teachers work to implement the Zones of Regulation has been outstanding. Staff have been working to build consistency around how we proactively support students and ensure we are consistent in our approach to supporting students when unexpected behaviours arise.
This year we have aligned our values with the Department Values of Aspiration, Respect, Courage and Growth, part of this alignment has seen the development of our Above and Beyond stars. These stars are awarded to members of our school community who have gone above and beyond in demonstrating our values. I would encourage all parents when in the school to check out the amazing display of Above and Beyond stars on the noticeboard near the Library.
We are looking forward to working with the school community for the rest of the year to improve how we communicate with everybody and look forward to the easing of COVID restrictions so that we can welcome parents/carers back into our school.
Finally I would like to thank the School Association (and parent groups) who have made the canteen and Soupa Tuesdays possible this term as well as their work behind the scenes on our policies. I wish everybody and enjoyable and relaxing break and look forward to working with you all next term.
