Principals Report
The end of Term 2 is fast approaching and with the passing of the shortest day hopefully we will see an improvement in the weather soon.
This year our school will once again be entering in Brixhibition. Students build a Lego creation and bring it to school for judging on Wednesday July 6. The winning entry is then invited to represent our school and take their entry to the Brixhibition that will be held in Ulverstone over the holidays.
On the afternoon of Wednesday July 6 we will be holding our end of term assembly. With the easing of COVID restrictions we are planning to hold a welcome back Parents/Carers activity, more details will be shared next week, please keep the afternoon free from 1:30 – 2:45.
Next week we will hold Parent-Teacher conversations, more information around the new process of reporting to parents is included in this newsletter. Havenview Primary School will be encouraging everyone to wear masks during the Parent Teacher conversations, we have had some sickness in the school (not necessarily COVID related) we request the wearing of masks to ensure everyone’s safety.
The External School Review (ESR) team visited our school on Thursday, this was a review visit to check our progress against the recommendations made in June of last year. I am pleased to report the ESR team gave positive feedback on the changes they saw in the school, a report is being prepared and shared with the community as appropriate.
Due to a number of new enrolments in our early years we have needed to look at our structures which will involve the movement of a small number of students. Parents of students who we are suggesting would benefit from a move will be contacted on Friday of this week with the changes planned to start from Term 3.
