Principals Report
Term 3 has certainly started with some wintry weather, hopefully as the days lengthen we will see an improvement in the weather.
A big welcome to Mrs Tammy Fenton who will be working as our Quality Teaching Coach for Term 3 and 4, Mrs Fenton has a wealth of experience and will be a big asset in our work at implementing the external school review recommendation around quality teaching and learning.
I would also like to welcome Ms Holly Geard who will be taking PE on Mondays, and working with our school on other programs on Fridays.
Welcome also to Ms Charna Carona who will be our Aboriginal Education worker, working with our school every second week on Fridays and Mondays.
Sadly we have, at short notice farewelled Mrs Trish Thompson who has taken up the role as Acting Principal at Natone Primary School. I know Mrs Thompson made some strong connections with our school community, hopefully as she has moved to a neighbouring school we will see her around. I am also sure the whole Havenview Primary School community would join me in thanking Mrs Thompson for her work with us and wishing her all the best in her new role.
The Accessing Priority Support team has met and are drafting up our Plan for the next 12 months. I look forward to sharing this plan and our progress in future newsletters.
On Monday 15 August we will be holding a Games Day to align with the Commonwealth games, information will be shared this week and parents/carers are invited to attend. COVID protocols of social distancing will be in place, masks are to be worn if this is not possible.
